Come for dinner and a discussion of Martin Thornton's "The Purple Headed Mountain", the Archbishop of Canterbury's Lent book of 1962. With themes of prayer, penitence, and creation, Thornton's work shows how
“the calling of a Christian… is likened to the climbing of a mountain, purple-headed because the way of ascent is the way of penitence.” (Archbishop Michael Ramsey, Foreword).
The book discussion will happen on the evenings of March 3, 10, and 17. Please come to any or all of them! Children are welcome to join for dinner and to watch an age-appropriate movie in the adjacent room.
The book can be purchased for $15 here and we will make 5 copies available at $15 each at the church. Once those are gone, please order the book here. Please RSVP to let us know you’re coming below.
